Israel recently welcomed the arrival of another group of immigrants from northeastern India who belong to a community of 11,000 Bnei Menashe, Hebrew for “Children of Menashe.” Believed to be descendants of one of the lost tribes of Israel, for 2,700 years they have followed Jewish practices.
